whanau Groups - About Us - Papakura High School

On Wednesday 8 February 2017 a team representing our local iwi, Ngāti Tamaoho, visited the school for a special assembly in which they presented the school with three significant names connected to the Papakura area, which relate to previous settlements and geographical features. These names, Otuuwairoa, Te Aparangi and Kirikiri were the names for our three school whānau. Our school is greatly privileged to have been gifted these names for our use.  

In 2023 with the continuing roll growth, a fourth whānau was added, Waipapa.
