Employment Pathways and Partnerships Coordinator - full time, permanent

To commence on Monday 14 July or as soon as possible thereafter by negotiation.

We are looking for a highly organised, flexible, multi-skilled person to join our team as an Employment Pathways and Partnerships Coordinator.

The successful applicant will be able to relate to a variety of stakeholders, including students, course providers, other staff at Papakura High School as well as employers/members of the local community.

The role will include but not be limited to: 

  • Connect and develop new partnerships between business, teachers, whānau and students

  • Maintain and provide support for existing partnerships (Pro-Jects & Gateway/Trades)

  • Oversight and lead of Trades and Gateway Programs

  • Complete all reporting requirements, ensuring deadlines are met

  • Oversight of Star and Gateway budget

  • Organisation of student placements on Gateway, Trades and work experience placements

  • Organisation of Gateway short courses (drivers licences, Forklift, First Aid, Workplace safety etc.)

  • Develop and maintain effective systems and record keeping

  • Ensure all resources and documentation is maintained and stored appropriately

  • Follow the in-school event process for all in-school events

  • Keep accurate records student placement, attendance, achievement & and engagement on KAMAR

  • Follows school policy guidelines when working with students

  • Oversight of EOTC for Trades, Gateway, Work experience & short ITO courses

  • Manage and report back on STAR Funding

  • Organisation of STAR courses

  • Creation and oversight of Individual Learning Pathway for Gateway students

  • Oversight of Gateway, Trades, and STAR markbooks

  • Report to the BOT every Semester

  • Effective and clear communication to stakeholders & Partnerships

  • Work collaboratively with Careers Guidance and Careers Education team to provide ‘taster’ events and opportunities based on destination planning and student voice on desired career pathways

In addition:

  • Skills in content design and Social media management would be an advantage

  • Experience working in schools would be beneficial

Learning Assistant at Te Aoatea - Alternative education provider. Part time (term time only), fixed term (finishing end of 2026, with the possibility of renewal)

Papakura High School is looking for a Learning Assistant to work at Te Aoatea, our Alternative Education provider catering for students in Year 9 and above who have become disengaged in mainstream schools. This is a unit catering for a small number of students who are in need of more intense support to reach their full academic potential.

The ability to build positive relationships with both students and their whānau is essential and knowledge of Tikanga and Te Ao Māori would be an advantage.

This position is 8:30am - 3:00pm, term time only, so would ideally suit someone with other commitments during the school holidays.

In school engagement officer, fixed term, part time (9am - 3pm)

To commence as soon as possible by negotiation, finishing on Thursday 11 December 2025

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate In-School Engagement Officer to support student attendance and engagement. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive by promoting regular classroom attendance, identifying patterns of absenteeism working with students and key staff members. 

Key Roles: 

*Work closely with students to understand the reasons behind non-attendance.

*Engage with parents/carers to promote positive attitudes toward school.

*Collaborate with school staff, social workers, and external agencies to address underlying issues.

*Conduct home visits where appropriate to support re-engagement.

*Implement and enforce school attendance policies in line with legal requirements.

*Prepare reports and attend relevant meetings as needed.

The successful applicant must be able to return an acceptable Police Vetting check result.

The terms and conditions, including base salary, for this position is set by the Secondary Teachers’ Collective Agreement. The base salary for trained and registered teachers will range from $62k to $95k, depending on applicant’s qualifications and experience. Individuals actual base salary will be established by a salary assessment once a role is confirmed.

Relief Teachers

Previous experience working in a low decile school or kura an advantage but not a prerequisite.
